Yeah, I never even paid attention to the format difference... :? :lol: Fascinating! :ugeek:
I'd be curious about a 16:9 version, see if it makes any difference?! :shrug:

I'm also not, did paint only with my graphire4 (4:3 Format) since 2006 - until 2011 with 4:3 screens and from 2011 until today with my old graphire but with an 16:9/16:10 screen. But I think a wide Format Tablet - is a bit better - because it will fit better the wide-screen :) :roll:

But I will have bit better results with an intuos :rock: ... my graphire I wll use with my old IBM-Thinkpad-Laptop :D

I will look now for an Intuos A5 Wide-Format / PTZ631 Model c:
An A4 Model would be also to big for my Desktop, A5 Size or A5 Wide Size is fine enough :ob

CONS / PROS for A4 and A5

Pro A4
A4 = more precision

Cons A4
A4 = more arm movement
A4 = to big for my desktop

Cons A5
A5 = less precision, but this is not so bad, you can should use zoomfucntions for more precision

Pro A5
A5 = less arm-movement
A5 = not to big for my desktop

btw. I see also on E*ye - that intuos3 A4 are cheaper than A5 .... it means, the most people like a5 sized tablets.

Hello, I own Intuos3 A5 wide and it really meets my requirements! I made a dream come true! If you can buy it for a reasonable price, do it Zero and you will not be disappointed! New wireless models look very promising too.

..But I have to confess that after buying Intuos I havenĀ“t had so much time to play with it :-( We have got a new baby (hurray!), bureaucracy issues that concern our new house and envious neighbors etc.. I need longer days and more sleep.. :-)

Congratulation dear Lemy, a baby needs time & love! :rock: But hope, you will find some freetime for painting again too, soon. :beer:

Congratulations!!
Babies are good. Take you time with no regrets. They are grown pretty quick and you'll have plenty of time to paint after.
As long as you are happy, it's perfect ;)

Hey, thank you sooo much guys! You are really kind!

..children and wife are sleeping now and I am astonishingly pretty fresh.. ;)
Yes, it is a big true, children are growing pretty fast. I am trying to be as much as I can with them and preserve all of this happy time in my heart. Hobbies must wait :-)

Btw, do you know Cats in the cradle song? Here is the version from Johnny Cash:

Zero, go for smaller Intuos A5, you will be really satisfied with it and you can spare size on your table. I think bigger size is more suitable for professional and CAD aims.

Hello - I did have shoot it up - I will get my wacom intuos3 a5 wide (ptz631) next days, it looked very new on the photos - it was used seldom and he used for this tablet also a softcase (I will get this case too). :ob

My old good graphire4 runs very fine with linux - and I will use it also, but with my old ibm thinkpad - with mypaint :roll:

It's also great, that I can use my graphire4 standard nibs (PSI-A007) for the intuos3 grip pen too.

Hmmm, yes ... take a round thing from your household e.g. a DVD and trace the round shape, if your tablet didn't have the same ratio as your screen, you will have a stretched result :roll: ... hmmm, but I worked 5 years - until today - with an unequal-ratio, input device (graphire4 - 4:3) and output devices (Eizo - Screen 16:9) .... :roll:

now my intuos3 fits better the screen :ob
