What are you working on, 2017-18

Verve is cool, but sometimes you make something nice in other apps or real media you would like to share.
But there is no community like this out there!
So why not make one thread to let your buddy’s know what you doing?
Could be anything regarding visual art.

Let me start with guy I made in last two days.
Made it just for fun having an „Alien challenge“ on procreate forum in mind.
Image
On iPad Pro, I usually use Infinitive painter, but procreate is simply stable and slick. But one has to relearn the interface even after a short break of using it, as everything is kind of reinvented - in good as in bad ways.
The brush I like most is called Nikko‘s Rull.
In fact the complete picture was done with this brush only, plus some hair brushes. And some elephant skin texture technique shown from mighty Aaron Blaise.
Imagine this brush like verve’s #8 but with a wide tip, no stuttering and soft fade in&out ....a monster creative tool ;)

So, as American commercial‘s say: „I can‘t wait to see what you are doing!

Wow, Knacki, that looks fantastic! I love the substances you've produced and the design is kinda cute, actually! Your style has qualities of naive painting with very sophisticated, mature texturing and lighting. It's a beautiful combination. It is most definitely Art! c:!
Pilou, curious stuff! Hypnotizing to try and understand this pattern visually.

Well, I won't have to tell you what I'm doing, as my plans haven't changed: Verve goes C++, VSTi development and somehow forging a commercial venture with all of it. It becomes important now for me to achieve that as time is catching up fast.

2017/2018? I made an image from the year 9961 before Christi. Making some thumbnailworks now, for my next painting ... in 3D I'm not so good, but good enough for my next painting. A WOLF vs. GRIZZLY/HUMAN Illustration. Brown = Box my Grizzly, small Boxes Wolfes, Man on the ground - he will look like Austrian ÖTZI maybe. You see also some rough Shadows and my Sun Position.

Here my current early WIP View

Image

I use now also VERVE for thumbmaking, I did made an simple masking-grid in Photoshop. I hope it will my last and one of the bettest Artworks in 2017

btw. I created also 2.5 D image/x-mas related image for an german digital art forum (psd-tutorials.de, for the 'Adventskalender') - finished two weeks ago, half painted in verve, half rendered in cinema - but You will have to wait until the 21 december :D :o

Your Monster-Alien is great - dear knacki - @ Pilou - I live your 3D Work too  - very good - hope to see your rendering :)

What a great idea for a thread Knacki :D and Your alien self challenge rocks. I think you won ;) I have seen a lot of elephantine/humanoids in my time, having devoured countless books and comics. This is one of the better versions c:!

Pilou that looks really cool. Can you export that as an object? I am envisioning a use for it in an alien city c:!

Taron, I have full confidence in you on your endeavor and you know where my heart is.

Zero. Whether you realize it or not there are 4 people with a Lot of 3d experience here. Just reach out and I am sure any of us would help you. Check out the link in my signature and it will take you to my Sculptris thread. I have more fun there than I do Z brush. A-side from that I love the scope of the projects you have been doing lately. Thinking Huge and diving in as in "Damn the Torpedos! Full Speed ahead!" This new project of yours is something I am looking forward to seeing completed.

Me. I am still warming up. I am working on a project aimed at Line Webtoon with my mystery partner lol. I think you know him from here :D I will ask his permission and if he says yes I will post the first page. I am the writer and he is the artist except for that page.

Next!

Hi Tartan, thank you for your tipps - never tried sculptris - but I own 3DCoat, I'm sure - that I will do some more works with that tool again. But this 3d sketch I keep it simple - this scene I will paint. ;) Where I can found this thread?

Hey zero, I really do love your thumbs! Very vivid, the colors and the background forrest fading away is giving a perfect mood.
One can see not a few concept artists showing this state as almost ready. ;)

I stuck a bit on this guy.
Even though I think that the character itself is fantastic, the environment and overall composition is not satisfying me.
Done with procreate.

I think the atmosphere came out great lol It frames the subject. It gives a moonlight depth and gives it a mystical feel c:!
This is a very rough sketch I am cleaning up before taking it into Verve in separate layers. It badly needs Ctrl W warp and then painting.

"What do you mean I can't eat him?"
"Why do you you want to eat him?"
"He says he is from California."
"You don't even know where California is."
"Neither do you."
"But why?"
I don't know. It sounds exotic. It sounds TASTY." Murmer's eyes gleamed.
"Dude. I'm just trying to find the guy that stole a surfboard from my shop."
"What's a surfboard?"
