Re: Putting the BRUSHES into the Spotlight

Wohohoho, Chekwala! What's happening, haha!
Well, Blending will mostly have an impact once you use more than one color, because it blends in a bit of averaging when you paint or smudge. It can be a neat effect, when you do fine work more than when you do the wilder stuff.
Brush #4 and #5 are kind of rectangular versions of #2 and #3.
Brush #6 is a soft stroke, meaning it interpolates your movement. I noticed that High Speed ruins the effect, because it picks up mouse positions too fast, hahahaha. It then can't make a spline between position captures. Other than that #6 is very similar to #1, actually.
Here to help! :D

Brush #6 with Blending = 1%

For Brush #6, there is not material build-up, no plasticity, even when Blending is set to 0%.
But changing this parameter to 1% still sometimes makes a difference: Sometimes there suddenly an artefact turns up. I always chose a shade of blue for my "strokes" but suddenly the first circle sometimes turns out to be a shade of grey. Most often not, though...

But I always had "High Speed" turned off?

Brushes #7 and Brush #8

I don't "get" Brush #7 either. It is just a ribbon?

And while I really love Brush #8, I don't understand those horizontal stripes that turn up for it as soon as I set "Blending" to 1%. It is the same for Brush #7, too?
How do they happen and why?

I don't quite understand that one, Taron. Rectangular in what sense? The brushes' overall imprints are still circles?

Re: Putting the BRUSHES into the Spotlight

OH, My bad, I'm so sorry, no, Brush #4 and #5 respond to PEN TILT and become flat towards the center! I haven't used any of them in such a long time, hahaha, I literally forgot.

Well, in your picture Brush #6 looks really beautiful. You know what is strange: I just opened up Verve and tried it out again. this time "my" brush #6 looks just like yours.
then I opened up the vrv-File in which I saved those #6-Experiments and - even though "High Speed" is definitely turned off, I only get separate circles again...
I am baffled.

But thanks a lot for your quick reply! :bounce:

Very strange indeed.
If the file is small enough, you can send it to me and I'll have a look... maybe I can see what was happening?! :geek:

Re: Putting the BRUSHES into the Spotlight

Thank you Taron, :)
The vrv-File (with only one layer) would be about 3.4 MB. Would that be okay with you?
