Interesting
Never ever thought about that!
Let us know how the 1060 handles verve with full fluids and large canvas (6k,8k,10k?....I suspect it's just fine

There is hope that it will be better (thanks for the curiosity and surprise it helped )
Uninstall the drivers
And will install again

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

The GPU-z shows 1251 Mhz
On msi afterburner shows 5000Mhz

GDDR5 is Double Data Rate
actual clock x 2 = effective clock or 5GHz x 2 = 10GHz :ob

Image
Image <- manjaro shows 10GHz :bounce:

Unnecessarily panicked everything was fine :?

HEy Pud
THanks for sharing all this info
I have to admit IM not very technical so I dont know what to make of it.
Im on a macbook pro running bootcamp windows 7 with nvidai 650m with 1MB Vram and it runs pretty hot and fan whirlng constantly
but it hasnt melted yet! lol! fingers crossed..and Im on full fluids most of the time.
:)
MOstly Im curious to know if verve is still fluid on larger canvas. I can get about 1400x2500 on my system before it chokes and that with just 1 mgb vram...amazing!

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Nice info Pud,
Here a nvidia 680m with the latest driver update, handles 2k x 2k very smooth, but when aproaching 3k x 3k it starts to lag, but still can save *.vrv and open them.
btw I now that Video RAM helps to handle bigger canvas resolutions, and the Video Benchmark helps to keep the fluids fast
but I have a question related to canvas resolution and hope it is not out of topic and Taron could cast some light on the matter...
I have noticed that the bigger the canvas the longer it takes to be saved as *.vrv, is there a way to reduce that 'saving wait time'? on what system specs it depends on?
thanks advanced.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hey guys,
I am running 2 gtx 960s in SLI. 4k x 4k is no problem but I can understand how the fans could bother others with their noise. To me its like "white noise" and I have no issues with it. My gtx 780 solo was doing the same before it overheated and the fans died lol. I dont really think Verve was the problem though.
Motherboard -Asus Rampage IV Extreme
CPU - i7-3930k @ 3.2 GHZ (overclocked - 4.5)
Ram - 64 gigs Kingston Hyper Beast
GPU - 2 Nvidia 1080 GTX running in SLI

Yeah, when my quadro died is was because of a game and a dusted up fan.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

I could've sworn I just read...eh... Ed, Ed, Ed....look two posts up! ...Tartan's post. ;)
Yes, the larger the image, the more layers, the longer the save time, because it breaks it into chunks and compresses them, which just takes time. It's not my compression routine, but it's what I have to rely on in the meantime. Also, the compression is lossless before you get all scared! :ugeek:
The data saved is quite extensive and covers more than your ordinary formats, of course. It's closer to an RLE format, fully layered, but there's even more than that, of course. Just be patient, please!
Other than that, please, let's not continue this conversation here. This thread is for graphic card reports!
Here to help! :D
