Re: Stavros Gallery

Very cool stuff dear Stavros, how large these Pictures in inch/cm and in pixels? If I can ask it. And did you changed from rgb into cmyk? I never did print my artworks  - but I think I need to do it also one a day. :bounce:

Re: just the facts

My Verve files are only 2560x1440 ( I just double the default resolution when Verve opens )
Thats all my system can handle and yes I created these on my macbook with Nvidia 650m and 1 gb of Vram
I have an older Epson 9800 44" printer that uses archival pigmented inks which I use to do my own printing.
I print directly from the RGB 16 bit png files Verve produces ( in this case I have distorted them slightly to a 2 to 3 ratio )
The colour transitions and gradients are jaw dropping and flawless with no banding!
The images are indeed "soft" by nature so there is very little pixel stepping for me to worry about.
I was concerned about this but many people told me they actually admired the softness of the images.
The images were presented at 24" x 36" with a 4" white border on matte paper but I am confident they can go a bit bigger.
Im looking into other options such as printing on metal and other substrates like acrylic face mounting.
I am less concerned with detail than I am atmospherics so these images lend themselves to being blown up.
Hope that helps anyone interested in printing.
Cheers

ps- sat and watched an amazing sky across the lake last night as the sun went down...stunning subtle washes of light kept shifting hues
couldn't help but think how much it looked like one of my verve paintings! Then it occurred to me that part of the magic is verve ability to create these subtle shift in colour and light with such ease...photo doesn't do it justice but here it is anyway....

Wonderful study! c:!
For a moment there I really was wondering how you got this photo real with Verve, hahahahaha!
But, yeah, that inspires me to consider ways for making such gorgeous god rays... so soft, so perfect. Great picture!
I haven't read your text, yet, but I will when my head deflates a bit again .... the heat kinda steams my brain into expansion, I feel, haha! :PP

Stavros - that's good news.
All the best.
Your pictures are reminding me of one of my all time favourite songs. Soft, gentle, strong and everlasting.

Re: Need trees? Voila!

A Misty Mountain Pair and the power of paper!...Need trees....voila!
Truth be told....I don't even know how this happened :( but Im happy it did :)
This is why we need a record button in Verve Taron!!!! so we can recall the magic when it happens.

Re: Stavros Gallery

Monumental, Stavros, monumental! I love the scale of them, the sense of air, the strangely misty clarity. Gorgeous! c:!
ARGH, I already have a record function, but not in this version. Maybe I'll see, if I can hook it up here, too! :ugeek:
