Re: With verve into the light

Uh, how I have to pull myself together on the topic of avatar... :PP
I'm always a little furious, when the film industry wants us to distrust and even hate mankind. The typical call for splitting us away from each other, judging those, who are being misled and declaring human nature as worthless pest with only a few exceptions. I just really find that intolerable and irresponsible. We should have movies that bring us closer together with strangers, not pull together parties that simply start hating soldiers or members of any institution, polarizing society more than it does already all by itself. And I thought it had way too many designs for the sake of designs, you know... the overall pretense and empty superficiality just annoyed the heck out of me. Not to mention the staggering predictability of it. But I wasn't planning on hijacking your thread, of course.
I think your eye turned out beautiful no matter what! :ob

Re: With verve into the light

Same with other milestones like "Lord of the rings" and the "sequel" "The Hobbit"

As I said, one don't have to love them but there are plenty of fascinating scenes.
To finish "off topic" :D (Or make it worse)
I really can recommend Alan Lee's book about "Lord of the rings"
I would like to give it the subtitle: "The power of concept drawing"
His work is adorable and a lot of his pencil sketches are so close to the final that I almost doubt they have been done before the movie.
But even though those incredible nice concepts and pictures, the movies itselfs concentrates just on fights.
That was very different to mine "head cinema" when I read the books. Much more worth with "The Hobbit"
Peter Jackson seems to be lost in this hunt & fight stuff, like most directors.
Hahahaha, but please!
"Avatar - or what would you do with one billion dollars".Or:
"Lord of the ring" The beauty which only told one of the book messages"
Go for this endless discussion in the off topic session, please.
I don't mind some off topic here, but this could fill thousand of pages. ;)
Peace for everyone!

Re: With verve into the light

Long time break.

Here is something I made, but verve was "just" for background and refinements.
It's a sculpt I made in zBrush - brought it into Poser for Sketch render after I took it to verve for paper structure and some details like erasing parts and goggle reflections.
That was easy because I knew verve would be 100% compatible with the render style ;)

This is a realistic render of the sculpt.

Btw. this is Juan Manuel Fangio. Five times Formula One Championship winner from 1951-1957.
Crazy guy with unbelievable skills. Four wheel drift always close to death.

Re: With verve into the light

Today was not a good day, friends.
We buried a school mates wife today, leaving him and a six year old boy.

Before the coffin a balloon heart was dancing, pulled continuously by the little boys hand.

So much joy of life and so many sorrows so close together - I had to get this picture out of my head before it explodes.
