Re: Taron's little gallery

Hooh, man, how long has it's been since I posted a new doodle?!?

Anyway, here's the result of me watching too many tattoo shows (Epic Ink, Ink Master, Tattoo Nightmares...). I personally dislike tattoos very much, to be honest, except that some people wear them perfectly well, while too many...eh...let's say: If only sticker pictures would be acceptable for "adults"...

But if you like it- you really, really like it- well, heck, who am I to judge!? (again)
Still, I apparently dig those shows and they are quite inspiring. During the last episode I just watched, I doodled this guy, hehehehe.... (New School-ish?)

[slightly revised after Zero noticed this could be blood on the background... I took it a little down, though, otherwise it would've competed too much with the main piece, I think?!]

Re: Taron's little gallery

eek! Looks like 3 d ! :o There are some very good tattoo artists out there. Roland Kaiser from hmmm Switzerland hangs out in Zbrush from time to time. Great artist. Very cool but like you I generally dislike tattoos. Some people can get away with it but by and large? Yes, stickers ftw

Wow! This guy very 3D and very funny.
TOP!!
Yeah...Tattoos. Maybe your picture represents your thoughts while watching the show?

How to translate "Arschgeweih"?
This tribal pattern lots girls thought it have to be over their butt.
Maybe "Butt horns"? :?

Never made or saw a picture, I would like to carry around for the rest of my life.
Even your very well executed "crazy skull" taron.
No!

Well.....on my knees?
When I bend them, the eyes are plopping out? :D

Re: Taron's little gallery

"tramp stamp" is what it's called in English! ;)
I pity the poor guys, who ...well...let's not elaborate! :?

What, how, where... on your knees?  ...one of the worst places to get tattooed, hahaha! :ob
Unbelievable, the crap I've picked up already just from watching that stuff.

Anyway, have you ever seen this: http://www.taron.de/Endless_why.htm
That so horrified me at the time, I just had to put Fred under it! Talking about unbelievable! :o

Oh, and thanks, of course, yeah..hehe...when I let myself go it tends to turn out very 3d-ish. I love exploring shapes with a bit more dimension, lighting and so on. I'm still having to go into almost a kind of- hmmm- state of borderline trance to allow myself to make more brutal drop shadow decisions. This time it actually turned out quite nicely, even if there are a few more places where shadow should've come down...but hey. Just a doodle anyway. ;)

Re: Taron's little gallery

Oh!!! I can't stop looking at it. It's eating my soul!
What an exceptional grasp of surface lighting you have!

My thought exactly on Tattoo art. :ugeek:

I've been getting approached for years to design someone's body art idea - and I turn them down on principal.
1) Nothing wrong with a person's right to permanently mar their body, and art is subjective - but why use up the only one canvas you have. Especially since human skin is a masterpiece in design all by itself. Graffiti is good for an alley wall, but not for a nice car. I say at least try using temporary ink that lasts a few weeks and "test-drive" the art.
2) If Body Art has to be done it should be done by the artists that specialize in body art. Respect the artist and his/her medium. It's like these Microsoft Paint "artists" that work for the state who firmly believe everyone will appreciate their CMYK clip-art crap on someone's shirt... ugggh.
3) Feelings and ideas change with time an maturity... Will you really feel the same teenage angst and rebellion in your 40's?

The list goes on and on...
All that said:
I do have respect for good tat artists' works, just not too fond of the medium application.

:ob  Now body paint art on ladies... woohooo!

Re: Taron's little gallery

LOL, did you catch that show....eh....I forgot the name... my goodness... eh... it's one of those reality shows like Ink Masters and Face Off and such, just about Body Painting. SKIN WARS, that's what it's called... man, why on earth am I such a sucker for these dumb shows. I swear, absolutely, the shows themselves are total and utter crap, the most idiotic invention conceivable and a tragic excuse for not having proper tv shows on these topics like they would've been there in the 60's or even 70's.... but- hey- they still feature artwork and artists (at their worst character and pitted against each other like enemies as they appear to want all of us to see each other). SO...I mildly apologize for promoting this junk format here, but still... there are some really inspiring moments in there and some excellent artists are features.

And that all because of one tiny line of yours, haha! Woohooo!
