Re: With verve into the light

Hey Knacki :)

This seems to have become a ritual with me on your but it's fun to do if I haven't commented in a long time :)

On LittleGirl5 it really came out well using the blue for highlights. I can see many different stories here but prefer to think that the dragon is about to arrive and that there is a sea monster starting to emerge. She has been called to that spot by magic and only the dragon she once feared can save her! hehe Yah, it's very evocative :)

Next page is your jungle temple and I am enjoying your style change here. The explanation on gradient mapping was spot on. I do similar things in photoshop using blends. This is one of your better landscapes and fits into your oriental (styles) Very assured.

Your lighthouse came out well also. The one thing I don't like is the mettalic shine I see off the structure. The gradient map really helped a lot. The sky and beam are superb!

Viking helmet looks like a 3d render lol It is done well enough you could use it as a realistic texture. Super nice! :)

Gold dragon... hmm is he late to the Little girls 05 side? He looks like he is ready to kick a sea monster's butt. Yah you know I like this one lol

Chocolate with cream doesn't attract me somehow but Metal Forest is brilliant! c:!

Golden carp reminds me of the dragon. I really love this style. Great simulation of flowing water. Another favorite of mine has been born.

Img 0206. What is this? The entrance to Cool World? wow It evokes the 60s and 70s underground scene. c:!

Lastly there is Magic Tree. It reminds me of some of your oriental influences as done by ??? hmmm who I am thinking of? lol All I know is I like it. It has a delicately magical look. :ob

More!

ey Knacki
I just have walked throught all this thread since 2014, fiuuu
your arworks bring a new fresh look to digital painting
I noticed some color study issues here and there, but overall your subject matter is very relaxing and eye pleasing...

those big clouds in the blue inmmensity, sent me all the way back to early 90 animation
that radian luminous wave has lots of spirit
those Verve 3d landscapes are very inmersive
that backlit kactus on the desert
the "End of a desert love" xD great mood
that microcosmos landscape
your Nemo picture is so freaking cute
also your sumi-e style is georgeous
african mask is the most colorfull of your works
the golden pond is amazing

congrats, hope to see more of these

Great stuff there :ob
I also like the idead of falling into "lets the program do the job" mood.
Verve is really a wonder for that mood.

Re: With verve into the light

Oh guys, that is super sweet of you reading all the nice and detailed comments.
Thank you very much!
All of you.
This is the best community!

Unfortunately I was travelling a lot last months, no real time for verve and if, there is the ipad pro which is pretty handy just to grab and start painting.
Specially in an airplane. ;)

I recently bought a new laptop. Gigabyte Aero15. I even didn't know that they are building laptops.
I7 7700HQ and a GTX1060 do a quite amazing job. Looks like it is almost as powerful as my Desktop once you dedicate the GTX to verve.
But hell, there are some serious fan action coming up when using verve.
The laptop is super quite in normal mode, as it is using Optimus for normal tasks.(long battery life in this mode- which was one of my key criteria)
But when verve is using >95% of GPU it really turns into something.
Maybe I'll find time doing some more tests there and creating some nice verve moments during this?
But for now, I am in my normal business with 3D and lasers - no verve :(

Re: With verve into the light

Awww...thanks for the update, Knacki! Well, I hope you'll find time again.
The moaning laptop is not surprising, of course. Just don't ever play warframe on it! ...those 3d games really turn my desktop into a jet engine far, far more than Verve. :ugeek:
But, yeah, once you put the GPU to work, it heats up, naturally.
I recently played with Lightwave again and it actually is like warframe in that regard. As much as I dislike that Verve heats things up, it's by far not the worst heater, thankfully. 8-)

Anyway, looking forward to your return and I wish you success and happiness with your 3d and lasers, hehe...does sound really fun, though! Hey, if you got something to share, don't hold back to make a post in "Off Topic" about that stuff, or post a link...I'd love to see what you're up to! :)
Here to help! :D

Haha,

after posting so much comments I couldn't resist to open the prog I talked about that often.
Just a little warm up and diving into the fantastic possibilities of verve.

Yay! Knackis back!

I love the Ying Yang Boogie! The name does it justice and more than that I love how you morphed it into Birdy Dragon! Or was it the other way around? Either way they came out well :D This is a perfect example of loosening up and I say you are better at it than I am c:! c:! c:!
