Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Uhm... I hate to ask, but- uhm- why do you need such exact brush sizes? On the other hand, that makes me wonder, if I should make it possible to have a set of favorite sizes and switch directly between such, too?! Could be good, I imagine.
And where on earth do you guys find these hilarious gifs all the time, hahaha! ...so brilliantly funny!
Here to help! :D

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

"... why do you need such exact brush sizes?"
This for me really only came up last night when i drew the akt sketches.
Brush #8 with size 4 worked well for the outlines for me, however that brush setting is too small/porous for erasing.
For erasing i switched to a dense #2 and scaled it up a bit.
Then i had to go back down to 4 for the brush #8 ... and repeat.

Not having to reach for the UI really makes a big difference already but yes, that's just it, brush presets would be perfect. :D

"And where on earth do you guys find these ..."

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

i really do like that the UI reacts to the scene lights. :o
What a nice gimmick that is :D
Though, if you place the light too high ( [shift] + [Page Up] ) it eats the UI text.
Maybe cap the effect so that it does not go to full 100% white? ie. 8-)

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

... And little convenience thing ... id like to seach for a canvas color by holding down [Shift]+[Ctrl], twirling inside the color wheel and repeatedly pressing [f] 8-)
This does work for the ambient light, i.e. holding down [Shift] and repeatedly pressing [l].
But fill only reacts to [Shift]+[Ctrl]+[f] once. :?
Even though [Shift]+[Ctrl] are still pressed, the next [f] will bring up the "fluidity dial to mouse cursor".

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Yeeeees... I noticed that, too... ...very annoying. I have to alter the general input logic a little bit. It's a little bit funky in Blitzmax, or rather how I use it right now. I'll address that again for sure!
In the meantime, use [p] to set the background color when you search for the canvas color. By the time you're happy, just hit [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[f] to fill the canvas with it! ;)

Both things actually...the interface blow-out as well! 8-)

Thanks! :D

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Aww i just saw that you already fixed the UI in the latest update :o
So very cool! Thanks a bunch :D :D :D
Though ... its a little less awesome now? i really feel bad now for killing it

Hey, many more things happend since the last update though? i didn't see the new canvas doubeling mentioned/document?
"
Use [Shift]+[F2] as before... toggle through resolutions!
Use [Ctrl] + [F2] to double resolution. I don't care if you go 1mil x 1mil, lol, but there you have it!
Use [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [F2] to halve the resolution
"

Also the new HIGH QUALITY mode deserves tribute? :D :D :D

You also tempered with the fluidity in the warp mode ... or something? :?
Darn your vague update statements   Darn they i say!

There was something else ... i can't remember all the awesomeness myself 8-)

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

 ...neither can I!

I totally forgot to mention those things, true. I don't think the interface is less awesome now, though. It still responds to the light, just not to the height of it. Should feel more reliable! ;)

I'll add the other things to the changes list... eh, but some of them should not go into the docs, because they'll change soon, such as resolution stuff.

"Changes v0.99t.03:
- [Shift]+[F2] now turns on ADJUST CANVAS SIZE ..."
Image

Awwwww, NO WAY?!?!?!? Tarooooon ?!?! i can't believe that this ... is a thing, now
THIS, is so very awesome!!! Thank you ever so much, dude! :D

What fun to search for a sweet spot by gradually increasing the canvas and hearing my GFX cart getting louder

It really is stabil, too ... i poked it with Warp, Undo, Symmetry and transform and it held steady!
Only, ...
[F3] during the canvas manipulation dislocates the selection-frame ...
and the [F4] tile becomes deactivated ... in an odd way, so that you cycle through them as if youd still have tile activ.
i.e. the next [F4] is mirrored-tile :?

It really was a smart move to tie the resolution digits to the mouse! :o

i still think it's easier to get to get to an desired resolution by manipulating one dimension one at the time, using the edges rather than the corner points?
Or, maybe stick with the corners but make it like in LW, that [Ctrl] snaps to the first touched axis?
Seems more unintuitiv though?

And wow, that's a strange one ...
Open Verve, fill and make the canvas a bit larger, ...
Now the paint edge has a black outline that shows up if you Smudge out ...
Image

Though, if you Smudge once, then undo and then smudge again the black outline is gone. :o
Image

Anyway, this, is so very cool!! Many thanks once again and of course, congratulations on pulling it off :D
You are amazing!

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Whahaha!
You're VERY welcome! After all: It's truly your fault, too! :D

Yep, good catches, I'll investigate them all. I was expecting a few funky things to be left. Try to imagine what I had to tackle to even get there, hehe. It's not as easy as it looks (I hope it looks easy, though!) ;)
Alright, smaller updates to come shortly... :geek:
