Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Thanks guys :) A little late for me to say that but ;)... Been a long time since I posted to this thread. Used a free program called Lively wallpaper to distort this old image I did using a galactic cloud and different patterns. I created the background from a mix of Mandlebub 3d and Verve and Photoshop. I also created the central figure from the ground up starting in a Box modeler named Silo, then into a beautiful program called Sculptris and then into Zbrush for remeshing and fine detail. From there I rigged him in Poser 11 and gave him clothes. I may rerig him with Michael 4's skeleton so he has a huge assortment of clothing he can then wear. I found him again on a dusty hard drive I thought was lost ;) Anyway it was a lot of fun ;)

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

ok here is the model I will be trying to recover when I learn more about what I am doing in Vizcom. If I am going to pay for that one month of Pro :tantrum: I need to try different things like making shoes  It means a month of heavy 3d work in Viz :) I will not Waste my money ;) The version to the left was the low res version of old Bebop that I generated from a picture I had of him in Vizcom. The 2 versions to the right were the end results of a journey that started in Sculptris Alpha 6 and ended in Zbrush for a little hard surface sculpting. The next version I try and generate will be the highest res I can go. After that I will rig him, pose him and then do some much more detailed sculpting in Zbrush.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Thanks Pilou :) Your comparison to Groboto is spot on. I haven't tried it yet but after seeing Magica results.. Yes very Groboto with those!

Only Ply? Which is fine but being in such a really nice looking program? The manipulation controls look fantastic and the presentation was well done. I have been running into a lot of Ply files lately. I use obj and fbx the most. I am in a stage where I have been digging up really old projects and redoing or borrowing from them and right now I am in Sculptris/Zbrush mode. Rigging a model is sooooo much easier. Messiah used to be the better alternative but between Actor Core and Mixamo that problem is mostly taken care of. They just need to be able to provide Facial rigging also. I have made my sculpted characters walk.. Now I need to brush up on facial rigging and retargeting animation and make them Talk or roar or Squeak ;) Again lol. I am going to go download that now. Do you know the best way of converting Ply files to an easier format to work with? c:! c:! c:! :)

upd: I see the company has partially moved to Patreon but I they have allowed Internet Archives to host their old files. They now have a demo and if you want any new full versions you must do Patreon. I am going to try the last build before they made the move. Blender is going to be releasing a PLY importer and exporter conversion to other formats soon. So the conversion process will soon be much more accessible.

https://archive.org/details/magica-csg- ... -33-20.png ( in spite of the picture link it takes you directly to the archives.) and here is the info they posted there:

Archive of all versions of MagicaCSG released to the public for free. These versions have been removed from the official site and new versions have further started to be published only on Patreon by the developers.

Upd: recently released a public demo version with cut out functionality unlike the Patreon versions. The demo version is now added to this archive.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Yes Blender is the more easy for Ply reload else you have also the free MeshLab even on PC the free 3D Builder (the more funny )

PS It's not a company it's just a One person EPHtracy ;) A university teacher who makes that on its free time! ;)

Yes with old version version of magica csg you can export as PLY! (0.0.2 )
And better you can reload cgs files from native last demo version !
