Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

The last one has a really interesting and horror atmosphere. I like the point of view, the main dog-woman subject, the building, the background, colors... everything there... :-) :ob c:!

Edit: if I can suggest, I would remove the hat. It breaks down the magic atmosphere.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Thanks Lemi   but your post is showing me I failed on the main subject  :) Scroll up to my reply to the short story cover. Meretsegar is supposed to be a cobra. I can revisit it in Zbrush as an object so I can sculpt her more and try for something more natural looking. Maybe give her a tail in Scuptris pro :) I can improve that snake texture also. I keep looking at it thinking it needs belly scales for definition. I may be able to do skip Photoshop and Zbrush and do it in Verve as I already have it in layers in .vrv. If I continue to use her as a character I will need to work up several models like with tail, without tail, with cobra hood, without etc.Tails are easy to rig

for Lemi

So much to do that I have set myself this year  When you are torn between two paths take them both by the hand, forge forward and do the best you can ;)

Thanks Lemi, I think it looks better but she feels even more naked than usual. :) Maybe she only gains the hood in full transformation which is full on cobra. In this middle form I think she has more of python look not a cobra<<<<< makes note. As a friend told me. She is a goddess. She can look how she wants to look.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Ohh. For my taste, it is much better now, Tartan! IMHO, at now it has such a dramatic atmosphere with no bigger flaw. :ob Thank you :-)

it is so good, that it deserves to print out, frame up and hang on the wall! c:!

N.B.
Maybe, if I can suggest a little bit more. Some parts of the building are too bright and don't reflect lights. Mainly the part close to cobra head on the right. Cobra is the main object if the building background gets darker, cobra will come more to the front and get more focus..?

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

A strong rim light on the goddess could do the trick to separate her a bit more from the temple. Maybe some slight adjustments to give the temple arch a mildly different value would then be enough to get proper depth.
Other than that, I also think it's a fantastic improvement! :ob

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

Ty you so much Lemi and Taron. That made my day  I wish I had saved that camera angle then I could have used the rim from her left side that was covered by hood without pinpointing it again. I think that tonal change and rim will be the final touch. I will give it a shot this weekend. :)

Zero, Blender is well worth learning. I tried it years ago when it had a terrible interface and hated it but it has changed since then. For the better. I tend to use more specific 3d programs such as Silo and now Rocket 3d for box modeling (TY Pilou!) Rocket is superb.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

hey dear tartan, blender I hated too 12 years ago, but yesterday I was impressed about the Bridge Functions in Blender - in Silo it is bit more clicking if you want create a hole through a cube, in blender its much faster

for easier working I use the Industry-Standard-Keymap (build in too) ...

'sad' that Blender Guru uses default Blender - Hotkeys - but okay, he is very good teacher ;) - like CTRLPAINT/MATT KOHR for digital painting.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

By the way, I changed my Shortcuts in Silo into a Blender-Industrial-Standard-Style a bit    - so I have nearly the same shortcuts in blender. Shortcut changing in blender are limited, but nearly unlimited in Silo. So I changed Silo Shortcuts in a a whole hour.

Re: Verving the Pipeline: Multi Program Workflow

I love Silo but even now have occasional issues. I am finding Rocket to be very intuitive. With Blender I just don't have a need for it but am glad it is there. It looks like you can even retarget bones in it. Silo's ability to remap is one of the best so changing keys to a more uniform system when you can is desirable. Good idea :) I think free sculptris should be in your tool box also.
