No text tips

I just downloaded verve, it looks really interesting, but I'm finding a bit hard to use because I'm not getting any text display on the tool. I'm having a hard time figuring out which dial is which. Everything else seems to work ok, perhaps it might be a little sluggish ... or maybe that's just that I need to get used to it. My graphics card is old and underpowered: Radeon HD 4350, so that might be a problem. I'm on windows 7 with a 4 core AMD Xenon II. I see no text at all in the interface whether the mouse is over a control or not.

Is there something I can do to try to fix this somehow? If it can't be fixed, does anyone know of any videos which go over the controls so I can write them down?

I should at some point make a little illustrated manual, too, but things are going to change rather dramatically with the next update, you know.
I'm almost surprised that the Radeon handles it at all, if it's that underpowered, so ultimately you might want to get a new card?! Not just for Verve, of course, but for many of the new things underway from everywhere. In my signature you can see what I just bought for myself for around $350...it's awesome!!!
