Uh, I'm not a hardware geek...no idea what Tegra is? GLes I can imagine, but still it's the first time I hear of it. I'm very interested in eventually having Verve run on Android as well, though. Yes, Verve is heavily GPU. In fact, the CPU just manages the framework, but almost all graphics tasks are hardware, really.
Would be quite fun to have Verve on OUYA, but at the same time...you probably don't want to have to be on a controller, hahaha. :?
I did, however, first started to write a little game with the fluids before I realized the Verve potential, actually.

Pilou, that link isn't working!

On mobile the GPU/CPU is the same chip. It's wild wild west on Android!

Guess it's about the speed/bandwidth between cpu and ram then? I feel like a village idiot, trying to talk about these things, though... even while I'll probably understand immediately what is meant, when somebody explains it to me. I suppose there's the architectural aspect of the gpu, running parallel processors to "fill the screen" or process buffers, which won't be the same in an ordinary cpu. If I read Cuda processors and the number goes into the thousands nowadays, I somehow believe that is the most fundamental difference and a cpu can't possibly keep up with that by its current design?!
Again: village idiot here! :P

The Android source base is staggering at this point. It's so large that event myself after using it for 4 years now, I'm learning something new every day. Size wise I would compare it to the Windows SDK in size. This new 'L' lollipop version puts it at version 20 which is far from a 1.0 product.

The GPU/CPU share RAM AFAIK.

Yeah, I think, I just recently heard that this is going to become a trend that GPU/CPU ram sharing. Sounds familiar and it may make its way into the desktop world, too?! Unfortunately, I believe to remember that it was ATi (AMD) who go there first?! I might be wrong about all of this though...didn't pay too much attention.

Eeeeeek OS dealings, I just hate all that, hahaha, that's kind of why I do my experiments with Blitzmax, but it didn't save me from having to do some windows specific crap for Verve. I gladly remember those days when it was our chief interest to trick the machine into bypassing all OS related processes, wahaha  back on the C=64. :D :ugeek:
So, yeah, I'm a little afraid about having to go into all of that stuff on Android all over again, but then I think the Blitzmax boys have Monkey, which is cross platform including Android?! Gotta check into that. But then, I wouldn't mind getting a bit closer to the wires, really. Here and there I have to fight battles I wouldn't have wanted to fight.
