Re: Bug Reports

Oh wow thats good news, Zeropainter :D i really liked that silk tube shading  i had no idea that Windows does such things, though
No wonder then that i delete several gigs of temp files every other day

i recall that i created one corrupt file once in the very beginning, too ... i thought saving was complete and closed prematurely
Attempting to open that file then closed Verve, just like this.

i refused to give up and attempted it like 20 more times ... Then it suddenly, it did load but showed a old version i.e. a stage i saved into that file like half an hour earlier
As if it still had a fingerprint of that old state in there ... super strange let me tell you ...
i can't find that file now though ... So, just a experience report, sadly

i tryed everything to reproduce that afterwards but didn't manage to close Verve during saving, since.
No idea what happend there.

Really funny actually, you can even open Verve and then move or delete the .exe and it will still run the session, save and close properly.

Zeropainter wrote:He he ;) thats cool ... I could made a rollback of my project, windows 7 did made a save of an early version :) ...
1) right click with the mouse
2) Eigenschaften => Vorgängerversion / Properties => previous version

So I didn't lost too much ;)

Uh, I didn't know that?! That's VERY cool! Could've used that a bunch of times with projects from other apps...pfffhaha.
Very cool! :D

SSD is brilliant AND EVIL! When those buggers fail, they do that in a sneaky way. You can only rewrite sectors so many times before they somehow can't hold data anymore. This could be in the middle of something and compressed archives are doomed easily. It's a very good idea to have a backup SSD that you rarely use and where you mostly just dump stuff onto, rather than overwriting and deleting. I could imagine that this would last a long time.
I'm in a similar situation and I'm not nearly scared enough. My C drive has started to fail, which is very spooky indeed. I had to reinstall a lot of apps, defragmented/optimized the SSD and currently it runs fairly smooth again, but I should soon make a backup... :?

I've tried saving big projects, had one that was 78mb and no troubles. However, resolution above 2500x1600 couldn't handle more layers for saving, which irritates me, because I was sure I had that solved. Seems like I have to break the images up into tiles after all.
Sometimes I really feel like I don't know what I'm doing...and it sometimes is a little bit that way, too. We always think computers are dumb, but they do what they do right. I don't think that is correct at all. Computers can be dumb and fail more often than we care to realize, hahahaha, and a programmers job is to get around that! :ugeek:

Re: Bug Reports

Verve(v0.99u.01) Bug...

HI Taron,

First of all I love the new Canvas feature! It work's fine on my Nvidia machine at work, but at home the screen is completely blue. I use an AMD 7970 at home. Had to go back to the prior version. Turning SHOW canvas on or off doesn't make a difference.

Thanks again for all the hard work!
