yes you are right 2k 2048x2048 = 4 Megapixels, 4096 x 4096 = 16MP and so on ... thats very fluid with my current GPU ... 4k impossible .... but its okay, with import/export settings, thank you so much, its also better to made maybe 2-3-4 peaces, for high resolution ... and than fitting together in artrage/photoshop/krita/gimp or other programms btw. artrage 4.5 supports now 64bit but still they don't have a 3D/perspective-grid and still only one light-direction/setting

I think artrage eventually added 16bits per channel formats, didn't they, but it took them for ever, which made me quite sad. I don't think I ever had the privilege of exporting 16 bit out of it, hehe. Verve was born that way!
But there's really no comparison between Verve and anything, yet. Verve is still just an overgrown proof of concept that is about to slip into a chrysalis as soon as I have time... what ever comes out of that might begin to be comparable!

don't be sad taron I love your toool so much - allready I use mostly Verve - artrage I used last time for an easter-card, 4 months ago - btw. cant believe that in 4 months we have x-mas ... we can made an X-MAS CRAD Challenge in the next weeks

Speaking of Artrage...since it seems many of you also use it.
They JUST released V 4.5....Took them a year and a half...literally
Theyve added 64 bit and tilt on the pencil...thats it...seriously
They say its MUCH faster but I dont see the speed gain on my system
and the brushes are STILL restricted to 500 pixels ( 100 if you dont know that you can enter larger numbers)
So the brushes are TEENY TINY now if I dial in a 10000 pix canvas.. Whats the point of it all.
No work on the brushes or fluids or anything.

Then I come to Verve and see MAGIC!
and I drag a 2000 pixel brush across the screen and it doesnt even stutter
You are changing the game here Taron!
Nothing can touch what you are doing here and it still blows my mind every time!

Did someone know the very old KPT Tools? Tarons Verve is the best invention since 14/15 years also in my mind its really fun

edit: it runs also with my gpu perfectly, cool ... never I tried such big brushes, cool effects

really never? Okay .... but your VERVE reminds me a lot of, KPT - GEL Tool & KPT FLUID Tool and KPT GOO Tool, and much more not a copy, but a very very good further development

Never mind 2000 pixel brush...heres a 2500 pix wide canvas with a brush double the width of the canvas!
So this brush is over 5000 pixels wide! Unheard of in any program
Works without a stutter on my Nvidia 650m 1GB vram
And its totally liberating to have this freedom.
How do I go back to 500 pixel brushes after this

Soon it will be a year that Verve came to life and I wrote some other little experimental painters before that already and all of them were capable of doing such big brushes and I myself had been freaking out over this from the start, but nobody ever cared to notice that.
I'm SO STOKED that finally it is something somebody recognizes for how weird that is!!! I was always puzzled by how slow most known painters are with big brushes, especially after my own experiments, hehe.
In a way I believe it might have also something to do with the undo logic, though, but I'm not sure about it. Anyway... THANK YOU, STAVROS for noticing!
