Hey Stavros, you're right artrage makes me sad too ... I tried yesterday the Smudge-Knife ... its painfull slow slow slow. 
And in Verve - thats only my GPU makes me sad ... works fine until 2kx2k only, 1GB VRAM is not so good for highres. Maybe I will try to find a way ... for working in tiles or I will safe my money for a X-Mas Gift
