Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Wowsa, Zero, that's pretty freaking cool! :hyper: :ob
Yeah, this one's gonna get crazy! Not only will you be able to use your own alpha, I will enable partial shader coding where you can literally write your own brush. :ugeek: ...I'm pretty excited about it, too.
But that's really some really nice result already! Keep 'em coming! c:!

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Hard to read, but it seems to be...
Outside Ring - clockwise starting at 9 o'clock (yellow)
1) (yellow to green) Verstand - Understanding
2) (cyan to blue) Sinnlichkeit - Sensuality
3) (blue to red) Phantasie - Fantasy
4) (red to yellow) Vernunft - Reason (wisdom, possibly)

Inside Ring, also from 9 o'clock:
gut - good
nützlich - useful
gemein - common or ordinary (sometimes "mean", but that doesn't fit here.)
??? maybe "unnötig", but I can't tell... means: unnecessary
schön - pretty/beautiful
edel - precious, fine or noble

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Thanks Taron
our good friend Goethe from the past.
Talking about colors, I was thinking about this additive color system that all digital hardware use, hence all of 2D, 3D apps, and how we artist were kinda forced to get used to it when digital painting arrived, since we all in our childhood learned to mix colors in the subtractive way, don't even talk about the different primaries we used to use (Red Yellow Blue).
I found that Photoshop allows to change the color using the CMYK sliders, not only the RGB sliders like any other app, and I tried to tweak to CMYK sliders to see if it felt more natural than tweaking the RGB sliders when recreating a certain color, I found myself like having to switch my brains between additive and subtractive color modes.
Have you tried it Taron too? what do you think about it?
I remember you mentioning "a layer that sets apart most digital painting apps from their users" meaning that the painting process felt sort of "not directly".
Note this is not a request for Vervette, I'm sort of costumed to the RGB sliders, it's just a thought that came to me while teaching color theory in school these days.

Best wishes Taron,
Hope our Belgium and Germany friends are good despite the recently floods that occurred there.

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Thanks, Ed, yeah, I keep wanting to approach proper subtractive mixing, but not with cmyk, which is really terrible and does not improve the situation at all. I thought about considering pigments and color spectrum diffusion, but this is too elaborate, if one wanted to do this "right". Then I looked into different considerations that are probably more exciting and I will explore... they will be less related to additive or subtractive considerations, but rather perception based color mapping, so to say. Expect something like that to show up! 8-)

Sounds cool Taron.
some sort of vamp
...on Firefox :hihi:
using chrome "incognito" window doesn't fix the "extension" thing.
the first sketch was better but I totally lost it when I accidentally clicked the stylus button. :PP

Re: Vervette Fluid Sandbox...

Neat! Looks very lose/organic the strokes. Feels like this could develop into a style. But then again, things will change quite a bit and you'll get ways to gain even more control.
