Re: With verve into the light

Dear Intars, thank you very much.
Two hearts are beating inside me. One more artsy figurative, one more tech abstract.
Nice to hear you like first one more, it's much more work as well. Ok. the abstracts are done quickly, but one will need mostly lots of them to find the ONE.

Yeah, detail is what I am after and what is hard to get with verve. The bee itself would have been no problem for sure, but the original painting is 6000px by something.
I can't wait to check verve on my new computer, when it's finally here. I was stupid enough to order one with a RTX3090 and 24Gig. This could be a big step in possible resolution. But saving will take ages and ages.
I'll keep you informed.

Re: With verve into the light

woohooo! A 3090? Sweet! I am in the middle of building a new one but wished my old one had waited another year before it gave up the ghost. I haven't been able to find a card that I want without paying an arm and a leg from scammers on Amazon. People are snapping them up from the stores and everywhere they are sold out. I am praying my 1080 TI didn't die when the graphics lanes did. Everything I am doing is on a seriously underpowered laptop. Be that as it may, I am looking forward to seeing where it will take you! c:! c:! c:!

Re: With verve into the light

I was pretty much surprised to see the RTX3090 in a black friday full PC offer , for a very reasonable price. But it's still in production, hope that is not a bad sign. ;) As money is a bit short, I hope I won't be dissapointed.

Maybe my last ride with Intel? Gonna be a i9-10900K 3,7 Ghz - because of 5.3 GHz turbo, ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-F, 64 GB Ram 3000 MHz, RTX3090, 1TB NVMe Fire Cuda (kind of nonsense with that MOBO, realized later  ), Be quiet 900 dark base and watercooling for CPU, 500GB SSD as cheap & fast Adobe cache and a 8TB HD for all crazy data shit.

As it was an offer no names for GPU and Ram were guaranteed.
We'll see.The RTX3090 is not that much faster than your two 1080 GTX SLI build. But nut SLI is not that much supported as one would hope. Same for CPU. Still fastest sIngle core counts for workstations imho. Something different when it comes to rendering etc. or zBrush with keyshot. But I am focusing on realtime visualisation, unreal Engine, Adobe, 3D Maya & Max bit Blender, and a bit of zBrush and 3D Coat next months to playce myself not only focused on events and holiday entertainment only. It turned out to be a bit dangerous in certain times.....

Edit: Ah well, not only your GTX1080ti died. My Titan passed away last year as first and most expensive component on my actual PC. Now a GTX1660ti is doing a good job.....well compared to price of 5 years older and one of first GTX Titan

Re: With verve into the light

The system you are getting is super strong. I wouldn’t worry too much about the cuda because it will come in handy regardless. My twin 1080 died about the same time your Titan died and I never changed my signature. I put my new system together and it acted the same as my Rampage. Fans power up… no video, I couldn’t hear the bios. The only piece from my old system? My old Corsair 1000I power supply. To me that is still good news. It means my old Rampage is still alive, also, my last 1080TI and I have ordered 2 new PSUs. Briefly, the new computer has a 10850k cpu (500 cheaper than the 10900 and 1% performance diff. Price just went down.) A Noctua air cooling tower for the CPU, 64 gbs ram G skillRipJaws at 3600, m2 Samsung 1TB ssd, 12 TB Toshiba performance/gaming drive for storage and a Gigabyte Z490 Vison D creators board which was the cheapest quality board with Thunderbolt 3 I could find. Really solid board. Still no extra GPU! Like you this may be my last Intel build for awhile. AMD CPUs and GPUs have caught up. I was skeptical of the Ryzen builds but I have been convinced. I guess we both will need to wait to get these systems up and running the way they should be but it will be worth it!

Lastly. If you need any quick texturing done, map it and let me know. I will take it into Substance Painter for you. I have 387 asset points to get that many materials. Just pick the materials and if I don't already have them I will add them. I have been doing a lot of my own texturing lately.

Killer Black Friday system with a 3090 and the board and 10900 are superb!.. yeah that is worth the wait c:!

Re: With verve into the light

I truly hope. Everything is under 3900€, 4700$.
Saying cheap sounds stupid. Bit it is.

Your offer is really nice.Thank you! I didn‘t have my hands on Substance but start feeling comfortable with 3Dcoat - another black friday deal from years before. It‘s no replacement, so I‘ll come back to you if I am in real trouble. I‘ll inform you guys when verve is playing with this GPU ans what‘s possible with.
Wednesday is full lockdown here in Germany :roll

Yes, I broke them little bit. Knacki, I hope you don´t mind that I mentioned the link without your prior agreement here, in your thread. If you do, please ask Taron to remove it.
