Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

I've just received my new computer with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 !
Verve works so well, no black ink syndrome when increasing resolution so far ! :bounce:

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

I'm happy with you :) its stronger like my 970's one - whats your largest pixelsize until you can work smooth? (one layer)?
And btw a question to Taron ... will I have more power with 2x970GTX in a SLI (in the future?) e.g. - with next VERVE-Versions*?

*I know also, that mostly SLI is only good for games, SLI is mostly not a plus for graphic-softwares ...

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

We've talked about this a few posts earlier already and I believe very much that SLI will benefit Verve greatly!
(In English one would say: I'm happy FOR you!) ;) :ugeek:

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hi Zero, Taron, Stravos,

The graphic card model is the GeForce GTX 980 from NVIDIA itself, it is featuring 4 GB of GDDR5 memory.
Complete specs are here:
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop ... ifications

With Verve (V0.99u.34), i can paint in 3000 x 3000 pixels with no lag on several layers with full fluidity. Some lag when High Quality is ON.
Unfortunatly when setting at e.g. 4000 x 3000 and beyond, the canvas becomes black. I still can paint but unable to save the project: when trying to save (Ctrl+s), there is a Windows exception pop-up indicating EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION.
Windows version is 8.1 in 64 bits.

Now I don't know if the graphic card driver is up-to-date, i will check this point and come back to you.

Regards,
GBoGBo

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Damn, there is a problem with 3000x3000 px: when reopening the project, the canvas is black :?

The driver of the graphic card was 344.47, i have updated in 347.25 from NVIDIA site.
=> Same thing as before:
4000x4000 px gives a black canvas and cannot be saved (windows exception).
3000x3000 px paints well and can be saved, but when reopening a saved project, the canvas appears in black.
3000x2000 px has no problem at all.

Regards,
GBoGBo

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hm...that's the wrong thread for that discussion, but I believe the next version may be a little friendlier to such resolutions?! Not clear, yet... ...I still have so much to do on it!
Have you tried making a canvas 3000x3000 before loading the image? That maybe something that could work, not sure...

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Thanks for the tip Taron but it did not work for me; however the black canvas when reopening the 3000x3000 project could be reset with key p after selecting white, so it is not such a big deal after all.

My laptop have nvidia gforce 610m 2gb, widows 7, 4gb, intel core i7-2670 QMand 2.20 GHz and verve is extremly clunky

But works fine on my desktop. c:!

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Missed this resolution discussion.
It seems that it's already much better than I tested in this thread:

http://www.taron.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=417
Those day 4.000.000 pixels where max to be on safe side. Maybe I just didn't found this "p" trick?

Everyone is welcomed to share his experiences there.
