Verve opens wrong?

Hi, I saw a demonstration video of Verve and I liked it! It seemed all sorts of fun, so I tried to download it...
The intial link didn't work, but after googling I found these forums and found the rar file. First, when I tried to unpack it, the map came out empty, but I finally managed to unpack the program.
Now I have a new problem. Whenever I open Verve it is a white screen and has a pop-up titled Windows Exception saying "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION", and I can't figure out what's wrong with it.

All help appreciated here, I've checked Norton and it doesn't seem to be Norton???

A bit more info will help. What version of Windows etc.? Did you check the list of graphics cards?

ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series with Windows 8.1 pro 32-bit with x64 based processor.
Looked at the graphic card list but my series isn't listed anywhere. It might be too outdated?

Aaah, yeah, desktop. It's a 4GB card... Is that too little?

Seeing as I have but 2...I'd venture to say that's not it. Perhaps it's a permission issue.

Yeah, it does say "Access Violation". Right clicking it prompts searching for fixes to "compatibility issues" and looking for software that can run exe. files. That could be a part of the reason? I've tried them though and I can't find anything meaningful from it. :C

Did you try compatability mode for Windows 7?

I haven't yet... (Not sure what about the thread you wanted to show, the problem is very different from mine .o.)
However, I tried to open Mischief after not touching it for long and it demanded OpenGL 2.0 or more, so right now I'm updating the driver to my graphics card; Auto updating it said I had the most recent one, but going to the actual site told my a different story...
