Access Violation on startup

After searching the forums, I've seen this is a fairly common problem. However, I'm not sure what the cause is! I'm suspecting an outdated graphics card, but I'm not positive, so here are my specs:

OS: Windows Vista 32bit
Graphics card: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family (I'm assuming this is it?)
RAM: 2gb
Processor: Intel Core Duo CPU (not sure if this is important but hey)

My little Lenovo Thinkpad X61 is almost 6 years old, so I suspect that's the problem. The only reason I still have it is because it still runs well, it's an amazing little trooper to not only live this long, but function well! But I am getting a new tablet laptop this week (Thinkpad Yoga) so at the very least I should be able to use this amazing program on that.

Would have just liked to be able to use it on this one too, since I'm giving it to my mother, who also loves art programs and painting. Any help would be appreciated! Wouldn't blame the developer if they made something that wouldn't work on this fossil, haha.

Re: Access Violation on startup

I'd say this is because your graphics card is too old and I have no idea, if Verve could even run on Vista to begin with? Seems like your system a bit too old to support Verve. :| ...really sorry about this!

Thanks for not blaming me, though! The whole idea behind Verve is to take advantage of current technologies. Considering how affordable computers have gotten recently, it doesn't take much to have a machine that could easily run Verve just fine. But I know how it is... it's always a bit dreadful to buy a computer. At least to me it is. But I'd love for you and your mother to be able to have some fun with it.
Let me know, if you get to there and then don't hold back, if you ever ran into any questions! :)

Oh wow, thank you so much for the swift reply! I will certainly come back and leave a review of my experience once I get my new laptop. :) From the videos I've seen you've done absolutely amazing work, and it's so kind of you to let us try it out for free!

My pleasure, Zoeykoko! The ability to share something I love- and love making- is a privilege to me and I really just enjoy to see what everybody is creating and is creating with it. Somehow that line could sound a little funny, I just realize, haha, but I hope you know what I mean?! :D

Looking forward to your findings and your paintings! :)
