Re: dines sketch book
GREAT!
You did leave out the curious feather bars that go across its beak, making the beak look a little bit like a totally stuffed tick, hahahaha, but DANG, this is such an instant evolution. I'm very, very proud of you already! Excellent!
Also, great use of the brushes. The feathers do work quite beautifully. Once you dive even deeper into this one, you will notice even more broad changes in style across the owls face. Rather than instantly painting it, study it carefully, recognize things clearly and make yourself a little plan inside your head, so to say. Consider how the feathers lay on or stick out of the face/head. Feel it. You can practice how best to suggest the different orientations of the feathers, like those, which almost point at you versus those, which are flat on the surface. It's very, very 3D and requires you to consider that.
Maybe I'll make some examples later. It definitely makes me improve my Vervette brush parameters, hahahaha!
In Verve you also do have the image brush option, which could be fantastic for it, by the way. It's not about making "feather looking" brush images, but the sort of randomness that might help with them.
