Re: What's your favourite Freeware, OpenSource Progz?

The other day a Japanese indie developer, Renshi Asada, showed me his cross platform painter, Mignon:

It's quite nice and he's got various mobile versions, which I find rather impressive and inspiring! c:!
I'm hoping he won't mind me posting this here, but he does give it out for free, so... this is the perfect place to post it, I believe.
Here to help! :D

Re: What's your favourite Freeware, OpenSource Progz?

I noticed something fascinating and kind of unfortunate, too, about what AI does. The whole "uncanny" thing is always hard to describe once it has reached a certain quality. After that it's a matter of feeling, which is even harder to describe. But try this: Take a bad, old photo of yourself where your face is rather small and blurry or with too much grain so you can recognize yourself, but you can't see any details. Then give that to the AI to enhance it! This is when you best can perceive the "uncanny" issue with the AI. You can feel that it isn't you, you can see quite well that it could not recognize you the way you were able to recognize yourself.
This curious difference you will begin to notice in all AI images. It's a certain something that you had noticed before, but your mind couldn't quite put it into "words". This experiment will give your mind the words.
