Can't see any problem in downloading a 300kb exe file. No install nothing.
This is the faremost updating convienience I ever experienced in my live.
What would you like to change?
Placing an updater prog in autostart taking resources to annoy you on things you definatly don't wanna do in that moment?
Just to download & install things you probably don't want?
Adobe acrobat reader is ugliest example on that. Billions on bytes for reading text.....occupy Adobe and say:...we are the 99% text readers only!!!!
Small progs could annoy you too. Take lazy nezumi i.e....which very cool by itself....but due to permanent updates....which is very cool by itself......and due to the fact that it always launches with photoshop......which almost very cool by itself......you have to close the update reminder all the time untill you click, don't remind me anymore.
Stupid easy, but if you have to deliver something in a few min. Every click extra is one too much.
Remind me gently and discreet without any action I have to do. That's maximum I expect from updating.
As long as there is no installation required, I really love it to download just an exe file. I love it with blender so do I with verve.
It's perfect for now.
Even if there will be once some personalized brush data, canvas data etc.
Just replacing the exe inbetween a certain folder structure would be cool for me too.
I always keep older versions to be secured. That's insanly easy, as it is now in just putting old exe in an extra named folder.
That's my very personal two cents on it.
