Re: Bug Reports

Awww right, dayum, i apologize, dude  ... "V0.99t.07" was the last really stable version for me and i worked with that one over the last days.
i'll only report on the latest builds from now on ... Or be very clear what i mean, at least.

my reporst been only additiv/confirmations to borhani's reports just before mine, anyway ... He mentioned the ambient light and the unpaintable Canvas first. ;)

Right, yes, sweet, Light and Ambient work as expected now, thanks! :D

Mouse input still randomly fails, though ... Steps to reproduce:
Launch -> Everything at default (Brush #9 selected) -> Draw a stroke with the mouse -> Draw a stroke with the pen -> Minimize/Maximize Verve -> Repeat the steps "three" to "five" until the mouse doesn't draw anymore.
Brush #9 seems to be the only one affected.

In any event, many thanks for the quick fixes, once again :D

Re: Bug Reports

Ah yes, switch between mouse and pen is problematic. I had tried so many different variations and they all had some troubles, but then I found the most solid, flawless solution for the pen, but the mouse/pen switcheroo stupidity came back. Maybe later on I do a mode selector or so... not sure, if it is BlitzMax or Wintab or what ever it is, but the pen (tablet) seems a bit like a stepchild to the input realm.
You see, mouse and pen both give mouse pointer coordinates and triggers. BUT it seems nearly impossible to get a reliable check for whether the pen was used or the mouse. So I went for solutions such as setting the tablet pressure to 100% by default and if the mouse is used this wouldn't change. Only when the pen is used it will change that. BUT for some bizarre reason sometimes the pen still sends a button triggered, while no pressure is being given and then suddenly you'd have 100% pressure at the end of your stroke. And that's just one example. All sorts of crap there for sure! :(

Anyway... stick with the pen for painting for now! :|

u.05 is up! I've realized I've done a mistake with my brush 9 smudging, but now it is how I intended it to be!

Re: Bug Reports

Ah, borhani, wow, you are really, really right here when I upload things, aren't you?! :)
Just as impatient as I myself, haha! ...I have to figure out a nicer way to update. I know it must be a pain for you to always download a whole new version. There are many things I still have to learn about programming, especially administrative stuff and concepts. I will work on that when I get the time! :geek:

Re: Bug Reports

Can't see any problem in downloading a 300kb exe file. No install nothing.
This is the faremost updating convienience I ever experienced in my live. 8-)

What would you like to change?

Placing an updater prog in autostart taking resources to annoy you on things you definatly don't wanna do in that moment?
Just to download & install things you probably don't want?

Adobe acrobat reader is ugliest example on that. Billions on bytes for reading text.....occupy Adobe and say:...we are the 99% text readers only!!!!

Small progs could annoy you too. Take lazy nezumi i.e....which very cool by itself....but due to permanent updates....which is very cool by itself......and due to the fact that it always launches with photoshop......which almost very cool by itself......you have to close the update reminder all the time untill you click, don't remind me anymore.
Stupid easy, but if you have to deliver something in a few min. Every click extra is one too much.
Remind me gently and discreet without any action I have to do. That's maximum I expect from updating.

As long as there is no installation required, I really love it to download just an exe file. I love it with blender so do I with verve.
It's perfect for now.
Even if there will be once some personalized brush data, canvas data etc.
Just replacing the exe inbetween a certain folder structure would be cool for me too.
I always keep older versions to be secured. That's insanly easy, as it is now in just putting old exe in an extra named folder.

That's my very personal two cents on it. ;)

Re: Bug Reports

Heck no, I won't do a terribly annoying updater...no way! But I did think of a tiny starter up that never has to change and then you'd only have to replace a DLL, so to say. I don't know, if I can do that, but it would make a lot of things easier, I'm sure. For once, virus killer crap wouldn't have to kick in anymore. On top of that mime stuff and folder associations wouldn't get lost, I believe. But I don't know... however, no worries, I have no intention to have it get on our nerves with update reminders, haha! :o :P

Thanks, though, initially I thought the same as you, that it couldn't be any easier to download a tiny file, but with all the AV stuff...pffff...man. So painful.
