Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Odd...seems like a weird refresh issue or so...blending fails. I'm pretty certain that that is out of my hand. Any troubles of that kind with another GL based software or a game? :|

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Nope, at least nothing random like this ... and i do run many games ... and programs. :ugeek:
Really strange because Verve is super stabile otherwise ... i even a few times now painted, got another idea, minimized and just opened another Verve.
Sometimes have three or four different versions open and finish things up one after another
Never had any issues :D
(Btw, i never even had that layer crash again either, did you attend to that and i missed it?)

Just sometimes i open Verve and some buttons are dark and i can tell right away and just close/reopen and its fine. :o
i even once worked with such an broken UI for a while just to see if it would fix itself but no, it stays like that for the whole session.

Anyway, yes i already figured it's caused by my setup somehow since i didn't see it mentioned anywhere, thanks for your solicitousness, though. ;)

Every once in a while when i start up Verve ... the UI is all, ... strange ... some random buttons are unlit, things flicker, chaos all over.
i had this since the beginning, about every 30th startup or so, though never mentioned it because it is not reproducible, it does not harm (ie. Verve does not crash or anything, just looks odd) and closing/reopening Verve always fixes it.
Anyway, i cought it today and thought i bring it up after all just to make you aware ... It most likely is a problem on my end, though?
i perform a pick in this gif ... poor Verve looks like it's in pain

Ahhh... I found the issue! It was the new [alt] color picking.... I forgot something. Strange that I hadn't noticed myself earlier?! Ah well...download for fix! ;)

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Aww this is awesome, Taron ... i actually been way more worried about this one than i let to believe
Honestly though, i wouldn't be surprised if the random unlit nubs thing is something else, still. :?
That one i have since the beginning, way before the new pick and it shows right from the startup independent of use (picking or anything).
It's really rare though ... ill show you if it hapens again ...

Anyhow, thank you very much :D

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Okay, i just launched Verve like 50 times in a row to force it out ...
Got the load/save/canvas buttons to be unlit ... these buttons do it most often but i also had the individual color dials look like that once and once the min size one ... i belive. :?
Actually, got an entirely new glitch this time, too  ... with just some dark spots on the buttons ... never had that one before ... That may well was caused by the rapid closing/launching though?

Heres how the unlit buttons react to the cursor:

Anyway, its rare ... one out of fifty is, bearable ;)

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Definitely peculiar! But the root of the issue must be somewhere near there...seems like the Blend enabling gets skipped for some reason?! That really seems out of my hand, as far as I can tell now, but I'll keep investigating, if I'm near there! :geek:

Fluidity does ... strange things? Was this intended? :?
How to use it? What ... i ... i need an adult

Pilou does get theses black buttons as well btw, did you see? ... And here i thought it was just the ghost in my mashine trying to show its dark side

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Uh..ah...:? ...yeah, totally intended!
Looks indeed a bit weird, but I suppose it's some weird drying thing or so. Can't tell you what you've done there, so I can't quite tell what Verve is doing there, but it sure looks a little unattractive. :|

Yep, weird with those buttons. I guess there are still some strange differences in how the cards interpret the GL. Just weird, because you've got an NVidia, too. We'll figure it out!

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

Oh sure, sorry for being so unspecific  ... i actually thought it's a new thing and i missed it becaue it's kinda nice, somehow  8-)

Okay so, open -> fill -> settings:Default except Fluidity 100%, Drying Speed 100% -> Pick a color (lets say "blue") and daw some paint on the canvas -> now dial Drying Speed down to 0% -> pick another color and draw into the previously applyed "blue" paint.
The "blue" paint now acts like its frozen ... or something? ... i.e. it won't wake up when it's touched by fluid in motion :o

Really cool in fact  ... almost like the way i pictured the "Weighted Wet Canvas" thingy ... thats why i thought you did this on purpose
Maybe keep it for a while? ... lets see what Borhani can do with it ;)

Re: EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE!

AHAHAHAHA, that IS neat!!!
Yeah...it's apparently logical!
So...it'll stay!
8-)

I just realize, I should explain for why or how that is logical:
- drying at 100% practically flash-freezes the fluids. That means the mass had no time to spread out like it normally would. When new liquid hit is then, it'll get the mass information of something that should be in motion, while it isn't. Thus it imposes it's motion directly onto what it touches, which then splits off at the same speed as it turns the direction, but the mass that is left behind, left without moment, just stands there as if nothing had happened... eh...I'm frowning, too, by the way
Anyway, I would never really use the drying above 50% for the purpose of slowing down the fluids. Just use fluidity for that instead, if you want to leave drying on. It's all still a bit, hm, open for crap, hahahaha, as it's still kind of, hm, crappy, but then that brings much more magic into the mix! :D
