Thanks Pilou. :) This is a composite of 4 different images, bounced to verve to give more cohesion and then over to photoshop for more work. The character was rendered in Iray

Somehow reminds me of Locutus of Borg or whatever Picard turned into then, hahaha...
Looks definitely dramatic! :ob

Thanks Taron,

His look actually came from an error. I corrected it to cover his face entirely with his helmet. It turns out that Iray will still render areas that have been blocked from sight in the preview of Iclone. After comparing the two in the scene I found I actually liked the mistake better :hihi: I agree. He reminds me of Locutus also :D

I think I have found the workflow for turning heavily pixelated artbreeder images into decent backgrounds. You don't even need a good plug in. It can be done between Verve and Photoshop. I use Verve because it feels so much more natural. It's just a matter of playing with brushes and shift in both normal verve mode and warp. When I refer to maintaining cohesion on a heavily composited image. (in art breeders case it turns into a composite of composites especially when I then I take several artbreeder images and composite them in photoshop like I did with the style test.) I refer to blending the elements once they are in place in Verve.

This image was not exactly what I was trying for but it had such a unique look. The dwarf is Khevin Smoothlager on his quest to find the perfect spot to build the perfect brewery and the finest Inn of all the world. It wasn't until I had finished this version that I realized I had the light on the wrong side of him and maybe should be golden? :?

These are some fantastic looking scenes, tartan.
Congratulation for both: the result and your passion to come to it.
You are looking for static pictures or animations?
Check out Ebsynth for animation. Totally freaks me out!

[omg Knacki. Absynth is something else. I have started a test project with it. The animation derived from it is amazing looking at You Tube.

These are bad times but we have been through comparatively worse as a species with pandemics and natural disaster before. The good news that I see underlying the bad is that in spite of the global connectivity that brought us to this pass, that same connectivity helps safeguard the world as a whole. We won’t be subject to the Pale Rider of the 1920’s or the Black Plague of the middle ages as easily as we were. With global warming and our will subjected to the omnipresent principle that “Things Change” it is easy to lose hope in a time that has made the human race “blink”. I say Not.

I was playing around with IBL s and settings in Iray for Daz and came up with a pretty bad render. Yes, I could have reposed his hands but I didn’t feel like waiting an hour for another render. Instead of reposing I wondered if I could work with it in photoshop and verve as it was and make it look good. Of course my aim in 3d is not realism and perfection. I prefer to break it down. This is what I decided to work with. You can see the major areas of concern.

Once I got it in photoshop I took it and adjusted the brightness and contrast to bring it out more, then over to vibrance to adjust vibrance and saturation. I made multiple layers to work with as I use a lot of blends. Before taking the project into Topaz to use custom filters I made another mistake with his hands. I should have done them first instead of after. I get to do the almost final stage in Verve. If you look closely you will see jagged areas in the lines etc. Verve stage will smooth most of them out and detail his features better. I also plan to fix his feet but it might be easier to just cover them with foilage lol. Any suggestions before I do that?

I had to order a new wacom pen. I bet I find the old one before it gets in :? Lots more I want to do here that I can't do with my mouse. Interesting new drawing app helped on parts of it. :) A really smooth one. :ob I will be coming back to this soon. Fun challenge :)
