Crash when opening .PNG

Well, the program runs totally fine but I have noticed this crash ;

I tryied to open a .png save of a work on PS then Verve crashed immediatly.

I took a look at the size and well, it was 9k*3k give or take, so I tried with a simple screenshot (1920*1080) but same result, the program just won't open a .png file...
Any idea?

Thanks a lot :)

Oh, I don't have import for pngs or any other file format hooked up. You can only load projects!
Funny how the file requester shows only .vrv as an option, yet, Verve seem to make miracles seem plausible?!? (Guess, I should get rid of "All Files" again. I had it up, because I first had a different extension for Verve projects, haha...DOH!)

But, yes, PNG importer will come soon. But 9k x 3k? That I wouldn't even dare to try! Even with fluidity at 0%, it's ambitious, because all the buffers are on the card's memory. If my calculation is correct, you'd need over 4 Gb on the card to even look at that stuff, if at all possible?!
Verve is a purely hardware driven painter, which makes the fluids possible. It has the obvious disadvantage of having to rely on the graphics card's powers. One of these days, those cards will hook together the CPU into a shared memory of much higher potential, but until then.... eh... I think I wouldn't go beyond 3k x 3k.

Hey thanks for your feedback

Ok then, I'll be patient till this option comes up :)
Yeah I know that 9k*3k is too much, it was just to give a try. I mainly work on PS but there's a feeling in Verve I just discovered and it feels so unique, I really can't wait to be able to swich pieces between both programs to play with the strong options of PS and the awesome brush feel & stroke from Verve :D

What I've done now is to create light and mood stuff on Verve, save as .png then import it as a layer in PS, it creates some interresting effects due to the much more accurate paint physic and brush strokes of Verve
(When it'll be done, would you like to take a look? It's not a 100% Verve work but it might be interresting :) )

Wait & see then!

(about the 9*3, I will dare to try hahaha! It cannot be worst than divide by zero right?)

Yeah I know that 9k*3k is too much

Maybe you can make 4 pieces and past them after ?

100% man, I would LOVE to see that! PAH! :D
Yeah, I'll see that I strengthen that connection, too. Since I still don't have a decent Jpeg saver, I always take the png into PS and export it from there as jpeg... :P ...stupid. But well...
I'll be happy once I have it at a place where you could go from start to finish in Verve without any desire to go photoshop, but all the option to even take layers into it. I doubt I can make a fancy Applink, but there's some remote hope that I may figure out the PSD format, which apparently is a biiiiitt..chh... ...and I believe it. Looking at my own format I'm not mad at all!
In my case, though, it is a fairly easy to describe structure that one can easily adhere to. A bunch of parameter settings followed by the number of layers and then layer parameters + image data. Not too convoluted, I believe.
