is there a way to draw straight lines?(suggestion)

hi there,

first of all - great program. even in its current status i can imagine it could be a good ally for any hobby or professional artist work with digital media.

your perspective grid is pretty cool, there is a mirror function and funny experiments often result in many lucky accidents and awesome color compositions. i think a lot of functions are covered and it would be great to see releases that are even more stable and compatible with different hardware setups.

-> i guess it would have been covered already but i want to push motivation for some kind of ruler - straight line - polygon tool. it would be really great...maybe i just could not find it though.
when i work with traditional media i also use rulers or "masks" intensively.

keep up your great work and art ^^

Thanks, Q! I'll eventually hook up some geometric aids, for sure! I'm missing those, too, every now and then. I'm still waiting with a bunch of stuff until I have another real go at the interface. Currently it's still just "lab-status" so to say, hehe, and I'm already pushing it with parameters on it. However, once I got my new interface solution started, I'll add a whole lot of new functionality, including grid and guide interfaces as well as a distinction between brushes and tools and a mesh-up of it, haha, to get quick and intuitive access to all practical functions. Part of it will naturally be customizable hotkeys.

Cross platform stuff will eventually also come into the mix, but that stuff really depends on funding, which I still have to somehow organize. It'll come and I'm excited about it all! :bounce:

Thanks again and WELCOME to the forum, Q!

I'm sure you could proably get crowdfunding on kickstarter or something if you layout a goal roadmap and target donation amount.

Ohhh...I was wondering why you've just quoted my post, but then I saw your little kickstarter note, there. Yeah, kickstarter can't work for me, but there are alternatives. I'm trying to explore those for sure! Thanks for mentioning it, though! :ob

Out of curiosity—why can't Kickstarter work for you?

Because you have to be either a US citizen or Netherlands. I'm neither.

Hello dear Taron ;) ... what you think about a simple pen/vector/bezier-tool? It would be great for making straight lines, but also for making clean selections, masks or perfect linework ... this would be great, a simple, but powerfull pen tool

I'm thinking about it. Full on vector stuff seems a little out of context within Verve, but it could be an interesting exercise. :)
