My first reaction from seeing this image was "well, we got some horny man in there, burning everything to the ground" but i guess it was more a reaction from a monkey part of my brain.

Looking differently on image, here's the thing:
about that "Land of the burning sand" one thing is missing for me, lets call it full impression missing detail.
The more i look at whole image, the more desire to see some smoke somewhere in image takes over. I like on imaginary level to play with your work in
this way, if you ask me - the men could have some smoke coming from his clothing and stick/rode thing; actually he could be little bit in a flames himself - just from standing close to the flames.
It could be kind of a "person on fire" scenario where person doesn't notice himself that some part of his cloth is on fire. More like a humor situation. Although i know the intent might have been
totally different and not intended to have any parody, comedy moments, i get it totally - lighting scenario is kind of apocalyptic, menace suggesting.

I like those dark red skies - made me think about the prehistoric, relic times. That color combination really triggers in me thoughts about prehistoric geology, i like that color scheme myself very much.
Very atmospheric.

Happy New Year to you, too, Zero! That's a good study, really. There's always an almost medieval style to your paintings, especially when it comes to faces. On the body you are far more relaxed, it seems, even when it comes to details like the seems and edges of the shirt. On the face you may be still a bit too worried about all the edges being hit properly, so to say, arriving at stark contrasts. But this one actually shows already some nice improvements.
Still, I actually have grown to like your consistency! :) ...it's your authentic style. c:!
I'm excited about the year to come and all that you will accomplish in it! :hyper:

Shaded ladies :P
There is something of an impression from the size alone for first lady vervepainting.
Visually my eye was caught by how you painted hairs on second drawing - they are quite great there; stylized yet realistic, digital yet oil painting-like, not 100% truly detailed as in real life yet detailed enough to convey feeling of hair & fur complexity done in controlled, skilled, knowledgeable level.
