Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Hello dear Stavros, yes I could paint even with 5000 - 5001px :ob , but the paper color changed into black and the fluids have moderate stuttering ... but this are 25 MegaPixels / 5k :D .... I happy with less
- I have 4GB VRAM c:! and the cheapest of the EVGA ATX 2.0, not overclocked one :ob

But btw - offtopic - I have now problems with Lazy Nezumi :PP - not only in Verve.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

5000x5000 = 25mil
25mil * (~110bytes) = 2.75 tril = ~2.6Gb only to even start Verve at that resolution.
Each layer contains color (8bytes/pixel) and mat( 4bytes/pixel) and undo of both, which is going to change. But for now that makes 24bytes per layer, which is about 572Mb per layer at 5000x5000.
So, yeah, could well go quickly to the limit of most cards, haha. I'm sure I may have even forgotten some extra stuff and don't quite know how a card handles temporary buffers for procedures and such...no idea. But it's ambitious to try working with Verve or any fully hardware driven software at 5k resolution or higher, hehe.
Here to help! :D

GTX 970 checking in here. everything works perfectly as could be imagined. GTX 280 in my old machine seems to run it fine aswell with some canvas size issues but not much lag.

GeForce GTX 580 here, everything works beautifully.

I am however thinking about upgrading to a dual-970 setup. Does Verve take advantage of SLI?
I have no previous experience with dual-GPU setups but I need considerably more horsepower for some RealFlow, TurbulenceFD and 3D animation tasks than I have right now.

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Once I figure out what SLI means, I'll have a look! :?
What ever automatically ties into the GL matters should kick in favorably, of course. :ugeek: :D
...uh, "Scalable Link Interface" (SLI) appears to do just that! So, I'm going out on a limb here and say: Yep, that should speed things up considerably! :bounce:
Now who's gonna gimme one of those!? :) :) :)

Nice! Now that sounds promising.
I'm afraid a SLI Quadro 5000 setup is a bit out of my reach but I'm sure you're having a lot of fun with the single Quadro 5000 already. ;)

Re: Everyone, what Graphics Card are you using?

Eh...it's old by now and a simple little board from the shelf nowadays should already rival and even surpass what the Quadro 5000 had to offer. But I'm ok! 8-)
