Re: Suggestions

In ZBrush I use the Windows System Color picker rather than all the color options available to me in the ZB UI.
I also make heavy use of the quick menu via r-click or spacebar..
Tab to hide what's not needed to be seen when working. A real palette ;)
"The Thing" in the upper right leaves a bit to be desired..;)
I'm sure there must be a very nice compromise somewhere along here. :D

Re: Suggestions

Thing is, the whole of Verve started with that "thing" in the upper right! ;)
Meaning it had to exist in order to pick colors and I had fun writing this thing as a pure GLSL shader. So...who ever enjoys Verve should show some gratitude to the poor lil' colorwheel, damned!
But, yeah... however, "leaves a bit to be desired" is a very appropriate statement for it suggests personal desire. I love this thing and could put it to some good use already. I know I'd lose an argument about its validity as the majority of people would rightfully claim that this is no brilliant innovation. It wasn't meant to be one either. Soon there will be something worthy of what Verve has become by now. 8-)

Re: Suggestions

I know we can do color and mat but how about ability to export all layers (or just visible) ;)
I'm ready to test a floating palette or bottom left maybe. What does everyone else think?

Re: Suggestions

Is it possible to show a thumbnail image of a .vrv file in Explorer (add entry to Registry or something?)

Re: Suggestions

Hmm, so yes: a Hue (and perhaps saturation) button next to the layer bump, glossiness, diffusion et cetera buttons.
Also since you are going to make importing images possible. It's the way to really take control over mending things. That kinda of color control is very useful in general. Before, after and during. I think, for some, it's the only reason to use another program.. to have control over those colors.

Re: Suggestions

Uh, hmmm...not exactly sure how it works with the thumbnails, but I sure would love that, too! I figure I could somehow save a little jpeg thumbnail with it, like some other formats seem to do it. But I'll have to research that a bit.

As for color control...yeeeeees, yes, yes....I would love to have it back, too, and thus I will write all that soon! However, I have far more exciting plans for where this stuff goes in the interface! :D
