Frequently Asked Questions

Here's a little FAQ for you...

  • Apple Macintosh version?
Not yet, part of the plan, but I need some funding first to justify buying a dedicated system for that to happen.
  • Linux version?
Not yet, part of the plan, but I need some time and bravery to install a dual boot on my machine. :?
  • Crash - Access Violation
If you run windows 8, you may have to update to windows 8.1 and then update your graphics drivers. But it might very well be that your graphics card doesn't support the required openGL version, likely because it's older than 4 years already?!
  • Donations
Hmmm...keep a little savings piggy for me until I have found a nice way to make that possible! :D

If you can think of any other frequently asked questions that I somehow forgot, let me know, please! ;)
Here to help! :D

Re: Frequently Asked Questions

AH, hm, no, you can't load multiple images, but you can save brush image sequences and load them again, of course. This WHOLE brush image stuff is still just in concept stage, really.
Lot's still to work out. :geek:

1. Opacity-pressure and Image brush

Here are some things I couldn't figure out:

-1
When using brush 7+8 it is much more difficult to get a soft faded line end as it is with brush #9 i.e.
Can I do anything to improve that?
Putting opacity itself down helps a bit.
But the faster I paint, the more the opacity stutters at the end.
Working with Intuos 3 and Cintiq 21UX on default wacom settings.

-2
Spacing for image brush is quite big even when bristles set to 0 and with very small image brush pictures- any chance to decrease spacing to get a stroke instead of stamps?

-3
Brush preview is only working with brush #0.
Other than that either tool tip nor tool preview window shows preview.
Is there a hotkey nowadays for this?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions

Eeek! :|
Well, uhm, where to begin.
1) The Ribbon brushes (#7 and #8) still aren't as excellent as they still should and could become. I'll have to see, if I can improve that behavior already, but I know it was hard to control.
2) The 0 spacing is literally one stipple per cycle. Turn on High Speed to see the difference! If I was going to add stipples between the cycles, it would act like brush #6 and it is very desirable, but requires a lot more work. Not an easy addition!
3) Oh, yeah, I abandoned the preview in the little brush window, because I was going to add a whole new brush GUI. There were some confusing things happening and I decided against showing the confusion. The tool tip always shows the size of the brush, of course, as well as the direction, but not quite the shape for the same reasons. I'll look into it later!
