First impressions and paintings

Prior to verve I'd use Artrage if I wanted to make 'painterly' art, photoshop feels very stiff compared to artrage. However Verve feels so smooth, a real pleasure to make art with :D I made myself a bunch of shortcuts for use with my azeron controller, which i'll share at the end on the off chance they're useful to anyone.

My first painting:

the liquid paint is mesmerizing, I love leaving some things to chance, or introducing a bit of chaos, it feels more 'alive'.
Second:

I think there are many settings to explore still, I love soft luminous colours.
Third:

I really love a slightly fluid brush, the texture is so pleasing, even a big one colour block is more interesting than usual.

My verve azeron keybinds (in the program rewasd):

I'd recommend keybinds to everyone lol, they make the process much more accessible.

Re: First impressions and paintings

HOLY CANOLY!!! That's AMAZING, Neph! Fantastic! :bounce:
And I mean everything! You instantly show such a strong style and clearly know what you're doing. Brilliant! c:!
It's time I revive the top row again, haha. Jeeez, I had all this on my old machine...must have a look at getting these things rolling again.

Anyway, fantastic that you're here: WELCOME!
And I'm really on your thread now, eagerly waiting for what's to come next! :hyper:

Well, hopefully I'll get to resume Vervette again soon, too, because it will pick up Verve's development for a moment before I go back to Verve itself.
Thanks for sharing your shortcut setup, too, that's damn near overwhelming for me to study, hehe, just incredible. I ordinarily simply have my left hand on my keyboard with almost all shortcuts directly at my fingertips. But what you've got going there looks even "closer", haha! Fascinating! :ugeek: :D :ob :ob :ob
Here to help! :D

Thank you for your kind words!
No doubt I will be using Verve more, it's my main painting program now. :)
I typically have my drawing screen, drawing with left hand and the azeron controller and mouse on the right, it just occurred to me that using a mouse while drawing if you're right handed might be a bit awkward.
I look forward to any future developments, thank you for your work :D

Re: First impressions and paintings

I kept using Verve, I actually use it a fair bit, I tend to use it in conjunction with clipstudio & art rage.
However I did make this enormous painting entirely in Verve, I worked out the maximum size my computer could handle and placed it back together in a program that didn't crash under the sheer size...

That, indeed, is enormous!
Fantastic! c:!
This really reminds me to resume bringing Verve to 64bit and across platforms, while I'm at it. Still no idea how soon this will happen, but you contribute beautifully to push me there! :hyper: :ob

I just notice that your images from your first post no longer seem to exist. Do you still have them somewhere? Would love to see more of your art again! Very broad and punchy style! c:!

Thank you :D
I really enjoyed working like this, it was pretty meditative once I'd worked out where I was going to put everything.
They're very large so I've put the rest in a google drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JUmBq_hLrqZ1WFO6BxM3cDwwwUlGulIN?usp=drive_link
